(Paul Richard / FRA) Pierre Kaffer’s first laps in the Farnbacher GT2 Ferrari F430 with Hankook tyres were very successful. In both practice sessions on the High Tech Test Track in Paul Richard the 32year old swissman-by-choice dominated the GT2 class.

The start of entering a test car for the korean tyre manufacturer Hankook within the Le Mans Series couldn’t have worked out better. Already during the first laps on the French test track the performance of the new Hankook tyre compound and construction turned out to be extremly competitive.

“The Hankook tyres worked very well from the beginning. Already in the first test session I was able to drive fast lap times. The whole Hankook Team Farnbacher Racing was very pleased about me driving top times in my first session with a complete new combination for all of us”, Pierre stated after the first test day.

Team Farnbacher arrived in France with Pierre Kaffer, Dominik Farnbacher and Allan Simonsen for the test sessions. Allan Simonsen and Pierre Kaffer shall be team mates in the Hankook F430 in the Le Mans Series 2009. Also for Hankook the test has highest priority. A huge delegation of the tyre manufacturer came the long way to Paul Ricard to follow the test programme.

In the afternoon during the second practice session the combination Kaffer - Hankook - Farnbacher - Ferrari could prove once more their high potential. The Hankook car was again leading the time sheet in the GT2 class.

On Monday more tests will take place in Paul Ricard.
